General Worker

Job Purpose

MAP Retail is seeking General Workers to join our team in Jet Park. The successful candidates will perform general warehouse duties including stock taking, binning, picking, packing, checking, moving stock, and maintaining a clean and safe warehouse environment.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent (Literacy and Numeracy)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a warehouse and/or logistics environment
• Clear criminal record
• Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks

Desirable

• Knowledge of spares/motor/engine parts
• Understanding of warehouse systems and procedures

Key Performance Areas

1. Binning

• Ensure incoming merchandise is binned and inventory replenished from bulk to pick locations according to standard operating procedures
• Allocate bin location numbers to new products in the correct warehouse areas
• Update bin locations and report changes to the supervisor
• Assist with replenishment functions
• Ensure all incoming goods are received and checked according to company standards

2. Picking

• Pick customer and branch orders accurately and timeously to meet order cut-off times
• Pick from bulk locations only when necessary (e.g., depleted pick bins or bulk orders)
• Follow all lawful and reasonable instructions from supervisors
• Adhere to procedures to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
• Assist with stock take processes
• Maintain daily housekeeping standards
• Conduct double-checks to prevent inventory loss and maintain accuracy
• Consistently achieve operational targets

3. Scanner Control

• Issue scanners to operators daily
• Record scanner issuance on the electronic app
• Inspect returned scanners for damage and book them back into stock
• Report any damage to the supervisor
• Complete the daily scanner issue spreadsheet
