Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Cleaner for our Bigly Labs located in Melrose. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly office environment while upholding the hygienic standards set by Dis-Chem throughout the Head Office.

Job Specification…

• Maintain a high level of hygiene and cleanliness across the Head Office and shared spaces on a daily basis.
• Establish routines to ensure that all areas of the Head Office are kept to a superior standard of cleanliness.
• Ensure that the canteen and restrooms are consistently clean and adequately stocked with necessary supplies.
• Be available during operational hours to address cleaning needs as they arise.
• Verify that refuse does not contain any valuable items before disposal.
• Vacuum carpeted areas, including meeting and training rooms, daily in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Vacuum other carpeted areas weekly as per standard operating procedures.
• Dust desks, chairs, telephones, shelves, photocopiers, and other surfaces in offices and meeting rooms following standard operating procedures.
• Comply with industry health and safety regulations while executing cleaning tasks.
• Ensure that cleaning equipment is not left unattended on the office floor and is stored properly when not in use.
• Display the wet floor sign prominently at both ends during floor cleaning activities.
• Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor, assisting customers on-site during cleaning operations.
• Guide customers to the appropriate floor or personnel when assistance is requested.
• Engage with staff and guests in a clear and courteous manner.
• Address minor issues or escalate them to the team leader for further assistance.
• Ensure that kitchens and bathrooms are well-stocked and cleaned according to Dis-Chem standards, reporting any shortages to the team leader.
• Notify the team leader of any malfunctioning equipment or items in operational areas, including doors, handles, locks, taps, cisterns, lights, and switches.
