Position Overview

The cleaner is tasked with maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within the SGS Randfontein Laboratory offices throughout the day, as well as providing a list of necessary supplies to the Line Manager.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Regularly cleaning the offices, which encompasses:
  • Washing and sweeping floors
  • Emptying dustbins and sorting waste appropriately
  • Cleaning the kitchen area
  • Dusting office equipment
  • Wiping down desks
  • Moving all bins outside for collection
  • Washing and drying cups
  • Ensuring that bathrooms and toilet facilities are kept clean and hygienic

The cleaner must also be capable of performing deep cleaning in specific areas as directed by the Line Manager.

Requirements

  • Completion of Grade 12
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Flexibility and readiness to work shifts.

Responsibilities for the Brand:

  • The Cleaner is required to wear the Hollywood Uniform in accordance with established guidelines. Personal hygiene must be upheld at all times.
  • Ensure that all work areas are kept clean and organized before opening, throughout service, and at closing, which includes both the interior and exterior of the Branch, as well as the parking area.
  • Floors should be swept, mopped, scrubbed, or vacuumed as necessary. Walls must be cleaned, and waste should be collected and disposed of properly. Bins are to be emptied, cleaned or sanitized, and fitted with new refuse bags.
  • Restrooms must be maintained in a clean condition.
  • All tables, counters, chairs, TV screens, furniture, lighting, and equipment should be cleaned and wiped down before team members begin their shifts.
  • It is essential to keep service areas orderly during both busy and quiet times.
  • Cleaning chemicals and detergents should be used appropriately.
  • Request cleaning supplies and/or replacement cleaning tools, such as mops, brooms, or dusters, from the Branch Manager as needed.
  • Report any breakages to the Branch Manager.
  • Air conditioning filters in the branch should be cleaned weekly.
  • Ensure that all tables and chairs in the gaming areas are well-maintained, monitoring seat covers and requesting replacements when necessary. Adjust table legs to prevent wobbling, and report any table tops or edges that require refurbishment.
