
The position of Client Liaison Officer is available within the Client Liaison Division. The successful candidate will report to the Team Leader.
Location: Alfred Nzo District, Eastern Cape
Servicing the following towns:
- Maluti
- Matatiele
- Cederville
- Mount Ayliff
- Bizana
Total Remuneration Package: R503 635 per annum (based on qualifications and experience)

Key Responsibilities
The Client Liaison Officer will support the Team Leader through the implementation of the following Key Performance Areas (KPAs):
Member & Stakeholder Support
- Visit and assist members in government departments and public service offices
- Facilitate meetings and one-on-one sessions to resolve administrative issues
- Maintain positive relationships with members and stakeholders
- Facilitate effective communication between members and the Scheme
- Represent GEMS in line with its mission, vision, and values
Query & Administrative Management
- Receive and submit member correspondence daily
- Follow up on outstanding information
- Attempt first-contact resolution of member queries
- Log all resolved and unresolved queries daily
- Escalate unresolved queries via the Team Leader
- Compile daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports
- Complete and maintain comprehensive advice records
Marketing & Advisory Services
- Assist at marketing events and attend to member queries
- Market the Scheme and assist with enrolments
- Conduct needs analyses for members
- Provide benefit option recommendations
- Offer ongoing option advice based on members’ goals
- Adhere to FAIS supervision requirements (if applicable)
Compliance & Governance
- Adhere to FAIS supervision agreement and instructions
- Ensure compliance with Fit and Proper requirements (Board Notice 194 of 2017)
- Maintain financial soundness and clean regulatory record
Qualification Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric
- NQF Level 5 FAIS-accredited qualification (as per FSCA list) – recommended
- RE5 FAIS accreditation (mandatory)
- Valid driver’s licence (mandatory)
- At least 2 years’ industry experience (Medical Scheme experience advantageous)
Advantageous:
- DOFA 2 years with FSCA for 1.16 Health Service Benefits
- Registered with CMS as fully accredited broker
- Not under supervision
- Class of Business: Health Benefits
- Own vehicle
If not already accredited, candidates must be willing to become a FAIS-accredited representative.

- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to speak an additional language (Ndebele / Swati / Zulu / Nguni) – advantageous
