AECI invites unemployed youth to apply for its Chemical Process Operator Learnership programme aimed at developing technical skills in chemical manufacturing and plant operations.

Learnership Overview

Duties and Responsibilities

Successful learners will:

  • Operate plant equipment under supervision
  • Complete production and process documentation accurately
  • Monitor plant processes independently (once competent)
  • Work safely at heights and in confined spaces
  • Maintain medical fitness for plant duties
  • Undergo forklift training and operate a forklift
  • Work shifts and overtime when required
  • Follow instructions from the Team Leader
  • Comply with SHEQ/PSM guidelines
  • Complete NQF Level 2 Chemical Process Operations unit standards
  • Handle filling/emptying of bags, drums, and bulk containers
  • Load and offload bulk materials and chemicals
  • Maintain housekeeping in plant areas

Minimum Requirements (Must Have)

  • Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Physical Science
  • Medically fit to operate a forklift (training provided)
  • Willing to maintain medical fitness for forklift license renewal
  • Basic computer skills (data entry, MS Office)
  • Willingness to work shifts and overtime
