
AECI invites unemployed youth to apply for its Chemical Process Operator Learnership programme aimed at developing technical skills in chemical manufacturing and plant operations.
Learnership Overview
This programme combines:

Learners will gain skills in:
- Chemical production process operations
- Plant monitoring and control
- Safety procedures (SHEQ/PSM compliance)
- Quality control practices

Duties and Responsibilities
Successful learners will:
- Operate plant equipment under supervision
- Complete production and process documentation accurately
- Monitor plant processes independently (once competent)
- Work safely at heights and in confined spaces
- Maintain medical fitness for plant duties
- Undergo forklift training and operate a forklift
- Work shifts and overtime when required
- Follow instructions from the Team Leader
- Comply with SHEQ/PSM guidelines
- Complete NQF Level 2 Chemical Process Operations unit standards
- Handle filling/emptying of bags, drums, and bulk containers
- Load and offload bulk materials and chemicals
- Maintain housekeeping in plant areas
Minimum Requirements (Must Have)
- Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Physical Science
- Medically fit to operate a forklift (training provided)
- Willing to maintain medical fitness for forklift license renewal
- Basic computer skills (data entry, MS Office)
- Willingness to work shifts and overtime
