Programme Duration: Up to 3 years (Apprentice Training Programme)
This position is ideal for someone passionate about motor vehicle repairs who aspires to qualify as a Motor Mechanic Technician.
Key Responsibilities
Under the supervision of a qualified Technician, the apprentice will:
- Assist with vehicle repairs
- Remove and replace vehicle parts/units
- Jack up vehicles and place on trestles
- Lubricate and change oils (as per manual specifications, under supervision)
- Remove and replace wheels
- Remove and fit air and oil filters
- Remove and fit batteries
- Clean parts and maintain housekeeping standards
- Attend prescribed technical/level training courses
- Perform additional reasonable duties when required
- Keep tools and equipment clean and in good condition
- Maintain clean overalls and work area
- Follow all safety regulations and workshop procedures
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric) with Pure Mathematics and Physical Science
- Technical Matric (preferred)
- Valid Driver’s License (advantageous)
- Clear Criminal Record
- Basic technical/mechanical skills (advantageous)
- Good customer orientation
- Strong teamwork skills
