About the Programme

The Youth Employment Service (YES) is a public-private initiative led by the Presidency to address youth unemployment in South Africa.

Eskom is offering unemployed young South Africans an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience within the energy sector. This 12-month programme provides valuable exposure and practical workplace experience across various Eskom Operations nationwide.

Programme Overview

Successful candidates will:

• Be appointed on a 12-month fixed-term contract
• Gain hands-on workplace experience
• Work within Eskom operations across South Africa
• Develop professional and technical skills in the energy industry

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Must be a South African Citizen
• Aged between 18 and 34 years
• Hold a Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent and/or post-matric qualification
• Must not have been permanently employed with a single employer for more than one continuous year
• Must not be studying full-time during the year of employment
• Must not have previously participated in or registered for the YES initiative
