The Ford Automotive Apprenticeship Programme forms part of the broader Ford Automotive Learnerships 2026 initiative.
This structured programme is designed to develop young South Africans into Qualified Vehicle Technicians through a combination of:
- Practical, hands-on workshop training
- Formal technical instruction
- Mentorship under experienced technicians
Apprentices gain real dealership exposure while building the discipline and technical expertise required in a professional automotive environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Assist a qualified technician with vehicle servicing and repairs
- Accurately clock time on all assigned jobs
- Read and understand Repair Orders before starting work
- Plan tasks and identify required parts
- Attend all prescribed training sessions and technical courses
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 / National Certificate
- Mathematics and Physical Science as school subjects
- Automotive-related subjects (advantageous)
- Strong technical interest in motor vehicles
- Young, motivated, and willing to learn
- Good time management and ability to work under pressure
- Good verbal communication skills (training conducted mainly in English)
