The Faircape Group manages six upscale retirement and lifestyle villages located in the Western Cape.
We are currently looking for a Laundry Coordinator at our Noordhoek Manor facility. This role involves overseeing the daily operations of the linen department, ensuring that quality control measures are implemented, managing service inquiries, and striving to meet operational goals while upholding the healthcare facility’s standards.
*Please note that preference will be given to candidates residing in the Fish Hoek area, in proximity to the facility.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supervising the daily operations of the linen department to ensure compliance with operational standards.
- Ensuring cleanliness, functionality, and hygiene in the linen room.
- Managing the distribution of linen and ensuring that filled linen carts are delivered to the appropriate locations.
- Overseeing the proper handling and storage of both clean and heavily soiled linen, including arrangements for re-washing or special treatments.
- Coordinating with external service providers for the pickup and delivery of linen.
- Identifying and reporting any torn linen, following the established condemnation procedures.
- Inspecting laundered items to confirm they meet quality standards.
- Providing weekly inventory reports and monitoring stock levels to ensure sufficient supplies.
- Reconciling invoices for laundry services received and sent.
- Submitting daily reports on linen productivity.
- Promptly addressing any operational issues to ensure swift resolution.
- Informing the supervisor about linen that needs disposal or replenishment, as well as any discrepancies in stock or invoicing.
- Making recommendations for process improvements to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Carrying out additional tasks as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor.
Education and Experience:
Grade 12
A minimum of 12 months of experience in a similar role.

Working Hours and Salary:
- Monday to Friday from 06:30 to 18:30, and every alternate Saturday from 07:00 to 12:00. You may also be scheduled to work on public holidays as needed.
- Basic salary starting at R 6,000.00 per month, subject to variation based on experience, skills, and attributes.
- Please note that public holidays are compensated at one and a half times the regular rate (not included in the basic salary).
Additional Benefits:
- Bonus: Quarterly bonuses are discretionary and contingent upon individual and company performance. Bonuses are distributed every three months following a successful probationary period.
