Role Purpose

This 12-month Professional Learnership Programme is designed to develop competent entry-level professionals within the Facilities Management and HVAC industry.

The programme combines structured theoretical learning, practical skills development, and supervised workplace experience to equip learners with the technical knowledge and workplace readiness required in HVAC and related technical service environments.

Main Learning Outcomes

Participants will gain knowledge and practical exposure in:

• HVAC principles and system fundamentals
• Installation and commissioning of unitary HVAC systems
• Occupational Health & Safety (including Working at Heights)
• Basic electrical and mechanical skills
• Tool usage and fault identification
• Workplace professionalism and compliance

Training includes:

• Classroom-based theoretical instruction
• Practical hands-on training
• Supervised workplace experience

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• NQF Level 4, 5, or 6 qualification, OR
• Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science (compulsory)
• Aged between 18 and 34 years
• Good physical health suitable for technical, site-based work
• Medically fit, including Working at Heights
• Comfortable working at heights (training provided)
• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
• Willingness to work with tools and technical equipment
• Ability to work in plant rooms, rooftops, and construction environments
• Ability to follow safety procedures and technical instructions

Certification

All training and assessments are conducted in line with QCTO requirements. Certification will be awarded only to learners who successfully complete:
