Purpose of the Job

Medirite Plus Daspoort is seeking a Stock Controller who will ensure optimal stock levels are maintained. The primary responsibility of this position is to accurately receive deliveries of incoming goods and to facilitate the efficient movement of products to the retail store as well as back to the distribution center and suppliers. Success in this role requires extensive knowledge of inventory management and relevant experience in the retail sector.

Job Objectives

  • To accurately receive goods by verifying them against the corresponding invoices.
  • To promptly and accurately enter received goods invoices into the system.
  • To ensure that the delivered goods match the invoiced items in terms of quantities, variants, and conditions.
  • To process all returns to suppliers in accordance with company standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • To maintain the storeroom in an acceptable and organized state.
  • To assist in the management and control of high-risk stock.
  • To identify discrepancies and report them to the manager.
  • To return all unordered or damaged goods delivered to the store and to accurately complete credit notes for non-acceptance in line with company policy and SOPs.
  • This role is physically demanding, involving the lifting of heavy boxes and the unloading of pallets.
  • To assist with additional duties and departments as required by operational needs.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade 12

Experience

  • A minimum of one year of pertinent experience in a retail or FMCG store operations setting in a comparable position.

Knowledge and Skills

  • A background in retail or FMCG with a comprehensive understanding of stock management principles and best practices.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, and Office 365.
